Box Score St. Cloud, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team beat St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon in four sets by the scores of 29-27, 18-25, 25-23 and 25-15.
With the win, the Mavericks record improves to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference.
In set one, the Mavericks were holding on to a slight lead over the Huskies for the majority of the set, as MSU was up 21-17 at one point. However, SCSU fought back to tie the set at 25-25 before MSU prevailed in the end with the 29-27 set one victory. Senior outside hitter

Krista Hassing added four kills and three block assists. Junior setter
Ellie Van De Steeg posted 16 assists as freshman middle blocker
Vikolia Meade recorded three kills and two block assists in the set.
The Mavericks in set two found themselves tied up with the Huskies at 9-9, before SCSU went on a 12-3 run to make the score 21-12. The Huskies ended up winning the second set, 25-18. Hassing recorded another six kills and two solo blocks as Honebrink and Meade each posted three kills of their own in the set.
The third set was a back and forth affair for the Mavericks and Huskies. SCSU jumped out to an 8-4 lead over MSU before the Mavericks battled back to tie the set at 13-13. The Mavericks then jumped out to a 20-16 lead over the Huskies as the Purple and Gold were able to hold onto the 25-23 third set win. Honebrink led the Mavericks in the set with seven kills and an impressive .429 attack percentage. Hassing added another five kills, as Van De Steeg posted 16 more helpers.
In the fourth and final set, MSU took control early as it built a 12-4 lead over SCSU. The Mavericks went on to win the fourth set over the Huskies, 25-15. Honebrink and senior outside hitter
Jenna McNallan each pitched in with five kills. Hassing adding four more kills of her own while Van De Steeg posted 14 assists.
Overall, Honebrink led all Mavericks with 20 kills to go along with her eight digs and two block assists. Hassing wasn't far behind as the Blue Earth, Minn. native added 19 kills, .424 attack percentage and five block assists. McNallan accumulated 10 kills of her own with a .409 attack percentage, as Meade recorded nine kills. Freshman outside hitter
