Korey Kronforst scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart, giving her four on the weekend, as sixth-ranked Minnesota State defeated Northern State 2-1 to remain unbeaten in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Sunday afternoon at Jerde Field.
MSU improves to 7-1-0 overall, 5-0-0 in the NSIC and stretches its conference unbeaten streak to 25 matches, the 16th longest in NCAA Division II history. NSU falls to 6-2-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the circuit.

Tori Meinhardt who connected with Kronforst in the center of the box giving the Mavericks an early lead. The Cary, Ill., product struck again two minutes later as freshman
Maddy Smith played a ball into the box that hit the hands of junior goalkeeper
Shaina Stein but was knocked free by Kronforst and driven into the back of the net extending the MSU lead to 2-0.
Northern State responded with a goal of its own in the 39th minute as senior
Hilary Peterson's header off a corner kick got past sophomore
Lauren Hoeppner slicing the lead in half. At the break, the Mavericks held a 14-8 edge in shots and 7-4 edge in shots on goal.
Minnesota State controlled a majority of the play in the second half outshooting the Wolves 11-8 in the final 45 minutes and not allowing a shot on goal. However, MSU was unable to find the third goal as the match ended 2-1.
For the match, Moris fired a team-high seven shots for the Mavericks whom held a 25-16 advantage in shots and an 8-3 lead in corner kicks. Hoeppner set a new career-high with three saves in the victory, while Stein posted a match-high four saves for the Wolves.
Minnesota State returns home for the first time in nearly a month next weekend. The Mavericks will play host to Minot State at The Pitch next Friday. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
