St. Peter, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s tennis team kept things rolling Saturday as it won a pair of 9-0 duals against Sioux Falls and Bemidji State.
MSU is now 4-0 on the season, including a 3-0 record in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action.
The Mavericks began the day with a 9-0 victory over Sioux Falls.
Brandi Dohmen won the No. 1 singles match by the score of 6-2, 7-5, while
Kelly Lechowskiwon the No. 2 singles match 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
Sarah McCann took the No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-4, while
Shealyn Bakke won the No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-3.
Alexis Haakedahlalso won her event in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-0 win, while
Alexis Ronney won the fifth singles match by the scores of 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 10-8.
In doubles action, the pairing of Dohmen and Bakke won the No. 1 doubles match 8-6, while Ronney and McCann won the No. 2 doubles match 8-6. The team of Lechowski and
Alexis Ronney won the No. 3 doubles match 8-6.
The Mavericks wrapped up the day with a 9-0 win against Bemidji State.
Dohmen earned a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 1 singles match, while Lechowski earned her second No. 2 singles victory of the day by the scores of 6-0, 6-1. McCann notched a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 3 singles match, while Bakke finished the No. 4 singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Haakedahl also earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in the fifth singles match, while
Monica Sanvik earned a victory in the No. 6 singles match via a forfeit.
Dohmen and Bakke earned an 8-0 victory in the No. 1 doubles match, while McCann and Ronney won the No. 2 doubles match 8-2. Lechowski and Robb took the No. 3 doubles match 8-2 as well.
MSU wraps up the weekend Sunday as it takes on Augustana, at 10 a.m.
