Box Score Minot, N.D. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team fell to Minot State in straight sets (25-20, 25-20 and 26-24) falling to 9-12 overall with a mark of 5-9 in NSIC action.
The Mavericks held a 15-10 lead early in the opening set before the Beavers were able to tie things up at 18-18 before ending the opening set on a 7-2 run, taking the first set 25-20, opening up a 1-0 lead.
MSU held a four point lead, 13-9 before it once again had the set fall through its hands dropping the second set 25-20, trailing Minot State 2-0 heading into intermission. Sophomore 
Chandra Honebrink (Waconia, Minn.) paced the Mavericks in the set with four kills, while hitting .364.
In the third set, the Mavericks held a 23-19 lead late in the set before the Beavers were able to rally once again, outscoring the Mavericks 7-1, earning a 26-24 win, earning the straight set victory.
MSU was led by Honebrink, who tallied 10 kills in the match and was the only Maverick to reach double figures. Defensively, it was freshman 
Haley Fogarty (Belle Plaine, Minn.),who tallied 20 digs, while sophomore 
Ellie Van De Steeg (Hutchinson, Minn.) tallied 25 assists.
The Mavericks will host the University of Upper Iowa this Friday at Taylor Center, first-serve is slated for 7 p.m.
