Eau Claire, Wis. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team claimed its second win of the season Friday evening as it defeated the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire by the score 148-95.
The Mavericks recorded the top finish in 10 of the 13 events, including eight in singles competition.
Junior
Ivanna Smirnova won two events including the 50 yard freestyle (25.00) and the 100 yard freestyle (53.85). Freshman
Shelby Sechena also won two events including the 500 yard freestyle (5:19.44) and the 1,000 yard freestyle (10:47.74).
Sophomore
Jade Ely won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:18.76, while sophomore
Emilie Berg claimed the top finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.14. Junior
Emily Green won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.68, while sophomore
Samantha Rassmussen won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:03.26.
The Mavericks also won both relays events including the 200 yard medley relay (1:53.50) and the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:44.72).
MSU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, as it takes part in the St. Olaf Invite in Northfield, Minn.
