Mavericks set to bring in six players next season

Means Adds Three Forwards for 2012-13 Season

Mankato, Minn.-- Minnesota State women's hockey coach Eric Means has announced three more student-athletes to play hockey at MSU in 2012-13.
 
Forward Lindsay Nagel (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South) and forward Katie Johnson (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) signed national letters while forward Casey Hirsch (Maple Grove, Minn./Syracuse) will transfer to Minnesota State University in the fall of 2012.
 
Lindsay Nagel, Forward, 5-6, Fargo, N.D./Fargo South High School
Nagel led Bruins to a North Dakota state championship where she was named MVP of the state tournament as a senior…Selected all-conference and all-state after her senior season… Bruins finished with a perfect record of 26-0-0 as Nagel accumulated 47 goals and 19 assists in her 26 games in her senior year... Nagel was also named the Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year in the state of North Dakota by the North Dakota High School Athletic Association…Born April 12, 1994.
 
Katie Johnson, Forward, 5-6, Anoka, Minn./Anoka High School
Johnson captained the Anoka Tornadoes to a conference championship with an overall record of 22-3 in 2011-12…As a senior, she was named all-conference and honorable mention all-state with 24 goals and 25 assists in 26 games…She was named also named third team all-metro in her final year at Anoka…Johnson scored 20 goals and 19 assists in 25 games her junior season…Born July 29, 1993.
 
Casey Hirsch, Forward, 5-7, Maple Grove, Minn./Syracuse University
Hirsh transfers to MSU from Syracuse University…In her freshman year for the Orange, Hirsch played in all 35 games and tallied two goals and nine assists for 11 points…She combined for 100 goals and 96 assists in her high school career at Maple Grove High School, earning all-conference honors all four years of high school…Scored 30 goals and 20 assists in her senior season as she captained the Crimson…Hirsch’s father, Tom Hirsch, played for the Minnesota North Stars (1983-88) and was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team…Born October 1, 1992.
