In the opener, MSU fell behind 4-0 through four and a half innings and never rebounded, falling to Adams State, 6-3.
After falling behind 4-0, the Mavericks answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth as redshirt freshman Christina Redd scored on an unearned run after senior centerfielder Chelsea Erickson reached on an error.
Adams State answered with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth before MSU closed out the scoring with two runs in the bottom half of the inning as Redd drove in senior second baseman Amanda Umhoefer on a sacrifice fly and junior leftfielder Lauryn Morris doubled scoring junior first baseman Liz Doppenberg.
