Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State men’s tennis team earned a 7-2 victory Friday evening against Augustana, concluding the regular-season sweep.
The Mavericks opened the match winning two of the three doubles points as sophomores
Cole Jensen and
Mitch Barr earned an 8-6 victory at the #1 flight. Junior
Marco Vazquez and freshman
Xue Chang concluded the doubles points with a 9-7 victory.
In singles play with Vazquez earning a 6-3, 7-5 win at the #2 flight to break a 2-2 tie.
Jensen picked up the fourth point of the night with a 6-3, 6-3 win at the #3 flight before sophomore Christan Bernal secured the Maverick win with a 6-3, 7-5 victory. Sophomore
Mike Lindaman added a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the #5 flight and freshman
Jon Alland won 6-1, 6-2 at the #6 flight.
Minnesota State (5-11) wraps up the regular season April 19 at St. Mary’s (Minn.) in Winona, Minn.
