Winona, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Winona State Monday to conclude the regular season portion of its schedule.

The Warriors entered the match ranked fifth in the region by the ITA, while the Mavericks were seventh.

Winona State opened with a sweep of the doubles points with all of the matches being closely contested as it won by scores of 8-6, 8-5 and 8-6.

In singles play, sophomore Hailey Robb was the only Maverick to see her match go to a super tie-breaker as she fell 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 at the #6 flight.

Minnesota State (13-9, 7-4 NSIC) opens the 2011 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament this weekend at the Baseline Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The bracket for the event is scheduled to be released later this week.
