Mayaguez, Puerto Rico --- The Minnesota State suffered a 5-4 loss Monday to Albion College in nonconference tennis action in sunny Puerto Rico.
MSU has now played four consecutive matches decided by a 5-4 score and is 2-2 in such matches this season.
The Briton's opened the match taking two of the three doubles matches as MSU earned its sole doubles point at the #3 flight. Sophomore
Brandi Dohmen and freshman Dani Collins won the #3 doubles match, 8-6.
The Mavericks won the #4, #5 and #6 singles flights to round out their victories.
Dohmen picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at the #4 flight while junior
Tegan Bakke won 6-2, 6-2 at the #5 flight. Sophomore
Jenny Gustafson closed the singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the #6 flight.
The Mavericks (6-3) return to action tomorrow morning when they face the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez.
