San Juan, Puerto Rico --- The Minnesota State men’s tennis team fell 7-0 to the University of Connecticut Thursday morning.
The match was played with the NCAA Division I format, with doubles counting as one point (meaning first team to win two doubles matches, wins the point).
The play opened with singles competition and the closest match for Minnesota State came at the #4 slot where sophomore Christan Bernal fell 3-6, 6-2, 10-4.
In doubles play, the Mavericks saw the #2 flight – a team made up of junior
Marco Vazquez and freshman
Xue Chang – fell 8-5.
Minnesota State 4-7 returns to action March 25 when it travels to the University of Nebraska Kearney for a three-match weekend against UNK, Metro State and Mesa State.
