Minnesota State senior Kyle Bahe (Annandale, Minn.) is the athlete of the week for September 13th. Recently he competed in the NSIC golf preview tournament in Hudson, Wis., where he tied for first place for the tournament and led the Mavericks to a second-place in the tournament with 614. Bahe, a 2010 All-NSIC performer who finished fourth in helping the Mavericks capture the 2010 league title, is currently leading the Mavericks this season with a 73.8 average.
Coach Geoff Klein said- “Kyle is a great person and student. He leads our team by example on and off the course. He has been our best and most consistent golfer going back to last fall. His attitude on the course is the best I've ever seen. I can't tell from his body language whether he's two- under par or 10 over par! That is a great characteristic to have to play consistently good golf.”

What is your favorite golf course you ever played?
My favorite golf course that I have ever played is the Classic Club out in Palm Desert, Calif. We played this golf course for our regional tournament last spring and I really enjoyed the course and views.
What made you come to Minnesota State?
The reason I choose Minnesota State for school was that I liked the campus when I first saw it. I also liked the distance away from home because it was not too close but at the same time not too far away.
What are your plans after you graduate?
My plan after graduation is to find a job in the financial field. I really want to work with accounting or finance with whatever I may be doing.

Dustin Johnson
What was your best round in golf ever?
The best round of golf that I have ever played happened just recently. It took place out on New Ulm golf course and I shot a 65.
What do you do on your free time?
When I’m home in Annandale I spend a lot of my free time hunting and fishing. At school I enjoy playing racquetball and hanging out with friends.
What is your favorite song right now?
My favorite song right now is the new Nelly song “Just a Dream”.
Favorite Food?
My favorite food of all time is BBQ Ribs. My favorite ribs come from a small restaurant in Annandale that I have been dining at since I was young.

I am looking forward to the first leg of the Conference tournament. The event is on October 4th and 5th at the prestigious Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis.
