Moorhead, Minn.—The Minnesota State women’s track & field team participated in the final day of the 2010 NSIC outdoor track & field championships today, adding 70 points to yesterday’s total of 32.5 points, finishing fourth overall with 102.5 total points.
Senior Brittany Henderson took two first-place finishes for a total of 10 Maverick points, in the 100-meter dash (11.61) and another in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.98. Senior Kelsey Leonard finished second in the 400-meter dash (24.72) and fifth in the 200-meter dash, tacking on 12 points.
Freshman Becca Schmidt tallied seven points as she finished third in the 100-meter dash (12.25) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (25.60). Freshman Danielle Jones finished fifth in the 100-meter dash for four points in a time of 12.41.
In the 5,000-meter run, freshman Ali Paul ran a time of 17:43.94 for a fourth-place finish and five Maverick points.
Maverick hurdlers grabbed eight points as senior Andrea Sellers took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.40) and freshman Annie Dahl took fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.74).
The Minnesota State 4x100 meter relay team finished second in a time of 46.96 tallying eight points while the 4x400 meter relay team took fourth-place (3:59.20) adding five more points.
In field events, senior Amelia Schaller grabbed another point for the Mavericks with an eighth-place finish in the discus throw.
The Minnesota State women’s track and field team will participate next weekend at the Last Chance Meet.
