SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The Minnesota State men’s tennis team snapped a seven-match losing streak Thursday evening as it downed Augustana, 7-2, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The win, which pushed MSU’s record to 3-12 on the season, is its second of the year against the Vikings.

The Mavericks opened the match by taking two of three doubles matches.  Freshmen Cole Jensen and Mitch Barr picked up an 8-1 win at the #2 flight, while seniors Chad Berger and Adam Doll earned an 8-0 victory at the #3 flight.

In singles play, Barr opened competition with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the #3 flight. Sophomore Marco Vazquez earned a 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 11-9 at #1 singles, while Berger picked up his first victory of the season at the #6 flight with a 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 victory.  Doll picked up the sixth victory of the night at the #4 flight, 7-5, 7-5, while Jensen ended the match with a 6-1, 6-7 (6-8), 10-6 at the #5 flight.

Minnesota State return to action April 22 against Saint Mary’s (Minn.) at 4 p.m.
