What Lies Ahead: The Minnesota State women's tennis team, ranked #5 in this week's ITA Central Regional Rankings is off until Sunday, when it travels to Florida for five matches in four days.
Minnesota State opens the Sunshine State Swing Sunday when it plays Indianapolis.
What Just Happened: Last weekend the Mavericks played to a 1-2 record. The Mavericks opened the weekend with a 6-3 NSIC loss to Upper Iowa before bouncing back to defeat Gustavus, 5-4. Sunday, the Mavericks concluded the weekend with a 5-4 loss to NSIC foe, Augustana.
Rankings: In the March 2 edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, the Maverick women were ranked fifth in the central region. The latest regional ranking did not include singles or doubles rankings.
Tough Competition: The Mavericks will face some tough competition on its upcoming Florida trip. When MSU plays Mesa State (3/9) they will face off against the top-ranked team in the Central region. The Mavericks will close its trip against the Florida Institute of Technology, which is ranked #22 in the nation and #7 in South Region.
What's Next: Minnesota State is idle until March 7, when it travels to Orlando, Fla., to five-match spring-break trip.
