Kearney, Neb. --- The Minnesota state women’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to Nebraska-Kearney in a regional match held in Kearney, Neb., Friday afternoon.
The Lopers took two of three matches in the doubles competition, as the Maverick’s lone win came at the #3 spot where senior Cassandra Anderson and sophomore Tegan Bakke won 9-8 (7-5).
In singles play, senior #3 singles player Paige Burke won 4-6, 6-4, 10-4, while junior Heather Jensen won at the #6 spot, 6-1, 6-0.
Minnesota State (8-9) plays Mesa State and Metro State tomorrow in Kearney. The Battle of the Mavericks between Mesa State and Minnesota State is slated for 9 a.m., while the Metro State match is set for 1 p.m.
