St. Olaf, Minn.--- The Minnesota State women’s swimming and diving team competed in the St. Olaf Cows Invite Saturday.
Three Mavericks recorded individual victories.
Chelsea Chapman won the 50-yard free with a time of 25.18, while Emily Timm won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:01.11.
Tabby Temperley added a first-place finish in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:45.46. She also had a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.57 and a fifth-place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.43.
Other Mavericks with top-five finishes included: Kristin Hayes (2nd, 200-yard freestyle, 1:59.01; 2nd, 200-yard IM, 2:18.71), Marissa Reeve (3rd, 200-yard freestyle, 2:02.33; 4th, 200-yard backstroke, 2:16.63; 5th, 400-yard IM, 4:57.31), Kelsea Smith (5th, 200-yard freestyle, 2:03.06; 2nd, 500-yard freestyle, 5:31.11) Ashley Ahn (4th, 100-yard backstroke, 1:02.21), Amber McHugh (2nd, 100-yard breaststroke, 1:10.02; 2nd, 200-yard breaststroke, 2:34.37), Alyssa Larson (5th, 200-yard fly, 2:23.07), Stef Edwards (4th, 50-yard freestyle, 25.44; 2nd, Mixed 1650-yard freestyle, 19:07.06), Nicole Bennett (3rd, 200-yard breaststroke, 2:34.82; 3rd, 400-yard IM, 4:53.46), Heather Schulz (5th, 200-yard breaststroke, 2:34.94).
In relays MSU had a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.29. Competing in the 200-yard medley were Chapman, McHugh, Timm, and Megan Pickert.
MSU also had a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.55. Competing in the 200-yard freestyle relay were Pickert, Edwards, Nora Stauber, and Chapman.
The Mavericks compete again next weekend on both Friday and Saturday in the Border Battle in Stevens Point, Wis.
