Mankato, Minn. — The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team opened the home portion of its 2009-10 campaign with a 141-98 over Gustavus Adolphus Friday evening.
The Mavericks finished with 10first-place finishes in the dual and recorded 30 \top-five finishes.
In the relays, Minnesota State finished first and second in the 200-yard medley relay. The "A" team finished first touching in 1:49.87. That team consisted of junior

Kim Christensen. The "B" team, which touched in 1:56.46, was made up of junior

Individually, freshman
Marissa Reeve won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:49.6 In the race, Reeve turned in her second faster split time in the final leg of the race with a time of :31.56. Hayes won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.97, while Krych won the 50-yard freestyle in :25.07. Krych also won the 100-yard freestyle in :54.17. Timm was the winner in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.14 and she also won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.20. Junior
Claire Bergman won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.86 to round out the swimming individual winners. On the diving board, junior
Janel Duffy won the one-meter and three-meter dives with scores of 223.20 and 210.55 respectively.

Minnesota State (1-1) travels to the annual Border Battle next weekend hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The meet features UWSP, South Dakota and the University of Milwaukee along with MSU.
