Maverick Hoops Fan Fest Set For Oct. 29

Mankato, Minn. --- The third annual Maverick Hoops Fan Fest supporting Minnesota State men's basketball is slated for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. in the Taylor Center.

Tickets for the event are $100 (admits two) and those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet and greet the Maverick men's basketball team and watch a slam dunk contest. Food and refreshments will be available.

"This will be a great night to celebrate Maverick Basketball," said Margenthaler, who guided the Mavericks to a 26-9 record last year. "We are looking to raise the bar even higher and really look forward to having our fans on the floor with this year's team."

Of Note: Game times have been altered for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference basketball tilt between Minnesota State and Southwest Minnesota State on Dec. 5. The women's game will now start at 2 p.m., with the men to follow at 4 p.m.

Also, tickets are now available for the 2009 NSIC Holiday HoopsFest. The NSIC Holiday HoopsFest, sponsored by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Sioux Falls Sports Authority, features NSIC men’s and women’s basketball teams competing on Thanksgiving weekend, November 28 and 29, in games played at the Sioux Falls Arena and the Elmen Center at Augustana College. Tickets are on sale at the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or through www.ticketmaster.com. Lower level reserved seat tickets for two-game sessions at the Arena are $12.50 each. Upper level Arena seats are all general admission and are $10 for adults and $5 for students per session. Lower level Arena reserved seat All-Session tickets are $50 and may be purchased by calling the Sioux Falls Sports Authority at (605) 373-2041. Tickets for games played at the Elmen Center are general admission and will be available at the door on game days.
