2024: Played in all 27 matches in 97 sets in 2024… Ended junior season with 142 kills and 94 total blocks, good for second on the team… Tallied eight blocks in three games this season… Had 10 kills on 14 attempts and four blocks against West Alabama… Was named the NSIC Player of the Week after her performance at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational… Was named to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team in 2024.

2023: Played in all 26 of Minnesota State’s matches… Finished the season with 89 kills, 20 digs and 98 total blocks, which was second on the team… Recorded eight blocks against Bemidji State and in the Mavericks’ upset win over #10 Minnesota Duluth… Was named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week after putting up 13 total blocks over two matches against Bemidji State and Minot State… Had nine matches with five or more blocks… Finished second in the NSIC in blocks per set (1.10 blocks per set)… Was named to the NSIC Fall All-Academic Team.

2022: Played in 22 of Minnesota State’s 28 matches and appeared in 76 sets… Finished fourth on the team in kills with 131… Also finished third on the team in blocks with 54… Recorded a season-high of 12 kills vs. U-Mary.

High School: Was a four year starter for the Clippers of Cleveland High School...She led the Clippers to a #1 ranking in the sub-section and was the first time in school history the team had ever won the sub-section where she had the game ending block for the win...The two-year captain and team MVP award winner amassed 102 aces, 885 kills, 720 digs, 329 blocks and 58 assists in her high school career...The three sport athlete also played softball and basketball...Emily was a four year letter winner for the basketball team.

Personal: She comes from a line of family members who attended MSU...Grandfather Richard Kern and uncle Joe Kern played football and baseball, respectively, for the Mavericks. Emily is the daughter of Rich and Becky Kern....Majoring in communication sciences and disorders.
