Sabrina Gonzalez joins the Minnesota State women's volleyball as a graduate assistant after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from East Carolina University in May of 2017.

While at East Carolina, Gonzalez ranked tenth on the school's single-season list with 1116 assists. She also ranks sixth on the Pirates with 2144 career assists. Gonzalez's first two years of college volleyball were spent at UNC-Pembroke where she led the Braves with 1,360 assists as a sophomore.

The Elizabeth City, N.C., native took a gap year to gain regenerative medicine research and clinical experience at The Steadman Philippon Research Institute, in Vail, Colo., prior to joining the Mavericks. While working at the Center for Regenerative Medicine lab, her main focus was to characterize autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) for clinical use.
