2009-10: Mason was named the 2010 NSIC Defensive Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-NSIC choice...Was a Second-Team All-Region pick by Daktronics and a First-Team All-Region selection by the NABC...Finished his junior year ranked second in the league in field goal percentage (.616) and steals (1.87), fourth in rebounding (8.2) and offensive rebounds (2.60), eighth in blocked shots (0.93), and ninth in scoring (15.9)...His .618 field goal percentage was the second-highest single-season total in school history and ranks second on the career list...The 138 free throws made and 209 free throws attempted are fifth and fourth respectively in single-season history...Enters his senior season ranked sixth on the school’s career blocked shots average list at 0.9...He came off the bench the first 10 games and started the last 20 games...Mason led MSU in rebounding with 8.1 per game and was second in scoring at 15.9 points per game...Shot a scorching 61.8 percent from the floor and connected on 66 percent of his free throws...Mason – who averaged a double-double in MSU’s sweep over U-Mary (12/11) and Northern State (12/12) was named the NSIC’s Player of the Week...He hauled in a season-high 15 rebounds and scored 15 points in MSU’s win against Cardinal Stritch (12/18)...Posted back-to-back 20 point performances for the Mavericks, the last coming with a season-high 28 points at St. Cloud State (2/13)...The 28 points was the most scored by a Maverick...Mason recorded 11 double-doubles last season.

Pre-MSU: Played at Northern Colorado played in 17 games in 2007-08...Was the team’s third-highest scoring averaging 9.4 points per game.  High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Robbinsdale Cooper...Averaged 22.2 ppg as a senior to go with seven rebounds and four assists....Helped lead Robbinsdale Cooper to a 27-4 record as a senior...Was second-team all-state...Led the team in scoring as a senior.  Personal:  Born March 19, 1988...Son of Donald and Lesile Samuels...Business Management major.
