Pre-MSU:  Started his basketball career at the University of Texas - Pan America before transferring to Minnesota State in the winter of 2011.

High School: Was a three-time letterwinner in basketball and football and also earned two letters in track...Was named all-area, all-conference and all-section as a senior as well as all-state honorable mention...Was the Most Valuable Player of the MSHSL Class AA championship game.
