Colton Benson received all-conference honors as a sophomore and a junior at New Ulm High School...He was also named the all-journal boys basketball player of the year and the KNUJ boy's basketball player of the year as he averaged 28.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, while shooting 47% from the field...Benson helped his team to a pair of conference championships during his sophomore and junior seasons...As a junior he reached 1,000 career points.
Personal: Colton is the son of Tami and Jason Benson and he plans to major in social work at Minnesota State.
