High School: A three-sport athlete, Smith played as an inside linebacker at Anoka High School…He also competed in basketball and lacrosse… Earned two letters in football…Received an all-conference honorable mention as a junior…Claimed all-conference and team defensive MVP honors as he recorded 133 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and three sacks during his senior season…Led the state of Minnesota in tackles as a senior… Named to the academic honor roll all four years.
