2013: Played in 11 games for MSU…posted 28 tackles, including 15 unassisted tackles…Had one tackle for a loss of three yards…He defended three passes…Received a Capital One Academic All-American Second Team honor…Posted a season-high six tackles against both Minnesota Crookston and the University of Mary…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2012: Started two games and appeared in 14... For the season he has 36 tackles, three pass break-ups and an interception....Also had 1.5 tackles for a loss and 0.5 sacks...Thompson tallied a season-high five tackles three times this season...Was tabbed an Academic All-NSIC selection.

2011: Played in all 12 games last year and had 28 tackles which was ninth on the team...Twenty of his tackles are solo...Had a season-high five tackles in MSU's win over Winona State (10/1) and had three or more tackles in five games...Had one interception which he returned for 31 yards and has a pass break-up and a blocked kick.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: Was a two-year letter winner at Waukee where he helped the Warriors play to a 7-4 record as a senior...Played several positions as a senior, including wideout, linebacker and defensive back...Started as a linebacker and wideout in 2009...Recorded 72 tackles and averaged 1.3 tackles for a loss per game...Also had an interception, fumble recovery and a forced fumble...Hauled in 20 passes for 453 yards and eight touchdowns...Was unanimous All-CIML pick as a linebacker...Also returned kicks, averaging 25.3 yards per return.
