High School: Played two seasons on the varsity football at Xavier in Cedar Rapids, Iowa…Set several school records his junior season including extra points made (68), field goals made (10) and total career points with 101…Followed with 52 extra points and 12 field goals, for 120 points his senior season and finished his career with 120 extra points, 23 field goals and 189 career points…Garnered First Team-All-Mississippi Valley Conference Kicker honors during his junior and senior seasons… Received Class 4A Second Team All-State kicker honors his junior season and followed up with a Class 4A First Team All-State punter honors during his senior season…Averaged 34.8 yards per punt his senior season…Helped his team to a pair of Mississippi Valley Conference championships and two runner ups at the class 4A state championship…Named to the National Honor Society.
