2012: Played in 13 games and started the Maverick win at Minot State (8/13)...Finished the season with 19 tackles, seven of which were for a loss... Also had 4.5 sacks, a pass break-up, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery...Recorded a season-high four tackles twice...Finished his career at MSU with 24 tackles.

2011:  Played in seven games this year...Had five tackles on the season spread out over five games.

Pre-MSU: Played two years at RCTC where they went 20-4  during that time…Was all-conference and all-region at RCTC and was named the Defensive MVP…Was the team’s second-leading tackler. 

High School: Averaged six yards a carry as a senior and was named all-conference…Was an honorable-mention all-conference pick as a junior. 

Personal: Son of Jeff and Shawn LaPlante…Born January 19, 1991…Proposed major in elementary education.
