2019: Played in all 15 games for the Mavericks, while making 14 starts…Tallied 37 tackles, including 7.5 for a loss…Finished second on the team in sacks with 6.0…Received an NSIC Honorable Mention…Tallied a season-high five tackles against both Sioux Falls and Upper Iowa…Tallied four tackles and a sack against Slippery Rock in the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2018: Played in 14 games on the defensive line, including 10 starts…Recorded 46 tackles, including eight for a loss of 21 yards…Also tallied four sacks and defended two passes…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Posted a season-high seven tackles against CSU-Pueblos…Also notched six tackles against Ferris State.

2017: Played in all 14 games for the Mavericks…Recorded 23 tackles, including two for a loss and one sack…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Recovered a fumble against Texas A&M-Commerce in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

High School: Bergren is a two-sport athlete out Elgin, Ill…Served as an outside linebacker and defensive tackle for the St. Charles North football team…Also played three seasons of baseball as a third baseman…Started all nine games as a junior where he gained all-conference honors… Notched 55 tackles, deflected seven passes and blocked a punt as a junior…Named team captain as a senior…Posted 90 tackles as a senior as he went on to claim all-state honors…Was named Defensive Player of the Year in the upstate area…Selected to play in the Shrine All-Star Game…Helped team get back to the state playoffs for the first time in five seasons during senior season…Led state in sacks (14) and tackles for loss (24) during his senior campaign.
