High School: A three-sport athlete from Fargo, N.D., Forknell was a two-year starter and a three-year letterwinner with the Fargo Davies High School football team...Also played as a center with the basketball team and competed in the javelin and discus events a member of the track and field team...Named to the A-honor roll...As a junior, Forknell received all-conference honors as he threw for 1,686 yards and 18 touchdowns, while boasting the best QB rating in the conference...As a senior he garnered all-conference and All-State honors as he threw for 1,576 yards and 14 touchdowns...Led the conference in total offense and sported the best QB ratio for the second straight year...Guided his team to a second place finish in the conference standings as a senior.
