High School: A quarterback from Johnston, Iowa, Jack Rutz was a three-year starter and letterwinner with the Johnston High School football team...Also competed in baseball and track and field...Claimed academic All-State honors and was named to the National Honor Society...Claimed first team all-district honors as a junior after throwing for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns...As a senior, he threw for 296 yards and a touchdown in two games.
