Pre-MSU: Played in all 11 games in 2008 for the Western Washington University Vikings... In 2007 he played in all 10 games and was awarded the Lou Parberry Strength Award.

High School: Second-Team WashingtonPreps.com Class 4A All-State... First-Team Seattle Times and Tacoma News Tribune All-Area and All-South Puget Sound League North Division selection... Listed as one of Seattle Times Top 100 (White Chip) state high school seniors.
