Recruiting Area (Illinois)
Tim Lydon was named Minnesota State's cornerbacks coach in March 2023. In the fall of 2022 Lydon served as the Special Teams Quality Control Coach and Video Coordinator at Division I FCS University of South Dakota. While at USD Lydon assisted with weekly special teams game planning, coaching of the Special Teams Units, and video breakdown. In 2022 USD led the Missouri Valley and ranked in the top-10 nationally in net punting during the regular season at 39 yards
For three seasons Lydon served many roles at Concordia-St. Paul, starting as the outside linebackers coach in 2019. In 2020 he moved to defensive line Graduate Assistant. While at CSP Lydon primarily recruited the Twin Cities, and the Chicago metropolitan area. He recruited 12 commits in the 2022 recruiting class for CSP. He earned his master’s degree from Concordia-St. Paul in coaching and athletic administration in 2022.
Lydon hails from Edina, Minn., and began his collegiate career at North Dakota State before transferring to St. John’s University where he played fullback. While at SJU Lydon contributed to a conference championship in 2014 and four NCAA playoff appearances for the Johnnies. He earned his degree from St. John’s in elementary education and served as a Kindergarten Teacher at Hmong College Prep Academy in St. Paul during the 2018-19 academic year.
