Justin Schmiesing was named Minnesota State's director of operations/kicking coach in January, 2023.

Prior to joining the Mavericks, Schmiesing lived in Madison, Wis., where he coached basketball and football at the varsity level. He also coached travel baseball with the GRB Rays.

Schmiesing attended the University of Wisconsin where he received his bachelor's degree in agricultural business managament in the spring of 2021.
