Alex Johnson joined the Minnesota State coaching staff in the spring of 2018 and has served as the cornerbacks coach.
During his first season, Mavericks cornerbacks came up with five turnovers, including three interceptions. Ty'Shonan Brooks went on to claim All-NSIC First Team honors.
His second season saw Jack Curtis claim All-NSIC First Team honors.
In 2017, Johnson served as the linebackers coach at Hamline University. Prior to his stint at Hamline, he had several different rolse at Eagan High School including wide receivers coach, special teams coordinator and offensive coordinator.
Johnson graduated from Marquette University in 2014 with a degrees in history and political science.Â
