Biography

2022: Appeared in 12 of Minnesota States 13 games including nine starts… Had 19 tackles and three and a half tackles for loss… Saw a season-high of five tackles vs. Colo. Sch. Of Mines.

2021: Saw no action.

2020: No season due to COVID-19.

2019: Played in one game before receiving a medical redshirt.

2018: Played in all 14 games, while making one start…Led the team in sacks with 11 and finished second on the team in tackles for a loss with 12…Notched a season-high three sacks at MSU Moorhead…Also tallied two sacks against Winona State and St. Cloud State…Recovered a fumble vs. MSU Moorhead…Intercepted a pass vs. Upper Iowa and returned it to the UIU 10, setting up a Maverick touchdown…Named to the All-NSIC Second Team and claimed D2CCA All-American Second Team honors.

2017: Competed in 13 games…Finished his season with 14 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks…Tallied a season-high four tackles against Upper Iowa…Tallied one sack against Minnesota Crookston and Augustana.

2016: Redshirted.

High School: A defensive end from New Hope, Minn., Bowen earned three letters with the Armstrong High School football team…He also lettered in basketball and baseball…Recorded five sacks in one game and nine total during his junior season as he went on to claim all-conference honors… Notched 11 sacks as a senior as he went on to claim all-conference and second team all-state accolades…Named the Northwest Suburban Conference Defensive Lineman MVP as he helped his team to a second place finish in sections…Competed as a post player for the basketball team and a pitcher and outfielder for the baseball team.

Personal: Chance is the son of Jim and Teresa Bowen…Born August 28, 1998… Intends to major in criminal justice.
