High School: A linebacker out of Batavia High School, Thielk started three seasons at linebacker for the football…Earned all-conference honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons…Helped his team to a 12-1 record and an appearance in the state semifinals his sophomore year…Finished second on his team in tackles his junior season with 85…Named a team captain his senior season, where he broke the school record with 107 solo tackles…Also tallied 23 tackles for a loss, including nine sacks as a senior, while posting three interceptions and three fumble recoveries as he helped his team to a conference and a state championship…Returned an interception for a touchdown as well and was named the team’s defensive MVP his senior season as well…Also served as a running back for two seasons…Competed in track and field his freshman year and was an alternate for the 4x400 team at state.
