High School: Johnson signed on with the Mavericks as a forward hailing from White Bear Lake, Minn., where she played three seasons of high school soccer with the White Bear Lake Bears...As a senior, Johnson was named team captain and garnished the East Suburban All-Conference honors as she led her team to a 13-4-0 overall record...The incoming forward finished her high school career with nine goals and six assists through three seasons with the Bears...At White Bear Lake Area HS, Sydney was a part of Link Crew, her church’s small group, and helps mentor young children. 

Personal: Sydney is the daughter of Brian and Kristen Johnson...Her mother, Kristen, is a graduate of MSU and her cousin, Erin Green, is a member of the women’s soccer team at Iowa State...Sydney’s proposed area of study at MSU is Business, with plans to start her own business or become a real-estate agent upon graduation.
