Prior to MSU: Gant joined the Mavericks following his prep career at Yankton (S. D.) High School...A three-year letterwinner in baseball and football for the Bucks, he also wrestled his freshman and sophomore years...An All-State First Team selection in 2015, (.386 with two doubles and 17 hits), helped lead American Legion baseball team to second-place finish at state tournament...A multi-sport athlete, he lettered in three times in football, four times in baseball, and participated in wrestling...National Honor Society member.
