Kris Goodman joined the Minnesota State baseball staff in the fall of 2018 as a graduate assistant. Goodman is progressing toward graduate degree in sport psychology.
Goodman played four seasons of professional baseball before returning to school. He was drafted in the 32nd round by the Miami Marlins in the 2015 MLB Draft and played two seasons with the Batavia Muckdogs (low-A short season), Greensboro Grasshoppers (A) and Jupiter Hammerheads (high A) as a utility player. Goodman also played two seasons with the Gary South Shore RailCats in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball before coming to Minnesota State.
A native of Apple Valley, Minn., Goodman received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2015.  Playing primarily as an outfielder with the Hawkeyes, Goodman finished his career at Iowa tied for seventh in career games played (194), 10th in career at bats (649) and 11th in career singles (131). In three seasons, Goodman had a .271 batting average with 156 hits, 22 doubles, six triples, eight home runs, 94 runs scored and 78 RBI.Â
