MAVERICK BLUE LINE CLUB
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)
Has there been a change to the format of the pre-game hospitality events? Our hospitality coupons include a voucher for food and beverage items, but no appetizers were provided at the last event.
The primary mission of the Blue Line Club, as stated in our bylaws, is to provide scholarship and other financial support to the hockey programs. In accordance with that mission, the Board has made some very thoughtful decisions that have attempted to contain costs while still providing a meaningful membership experience.
Over time, we have reduced the number of hospitality events and tried to add value in other ways that don’t have directs costs, including better access to the coaches and players.
While it is a detail not known to all BLC members, we can share that that the price for our first hospitality event this season was nearly $7,000, including a modest amount of appetizers, keg beer, complimentary soft drinks, and after all other fees and charges, such as rent, setup, service, and gratuity charges were added to the bottom line.
The board met shortly after that first event in their normal monthly meeting and determined that amount of expense for a pre-game hospitality event, equivalent to nearly half a scholarship, was unsustainable and inconsistent with the mission of the Blue Line Club.
As such, we are discontinuing serving appetizers at the remaining pre-game hospitality events. We will continue to provide beverage service (keg beer and complimentary soft drinks) and the program will still include pregame remarks from the coaches and, of course, the opportunity to socialize and interact with your fellow Maverick hockey games prior to the game. This will reduce costs by nearly 70% and the board will continue to monitor this expense in making decisions moving forward.
Is there an in-venue area or in-game experience that is specific for Blue Line Cub members during the games?
Other than the Blue Club membership seating area, there are no other in-game experiences or hospitality areas that are specifically designated for Blue Line Club members. Due to sustained support and tremendous membership growth over the years, there is no area within the arena that would offer sufficient in-game gathering space and the season ticket area is approaching a point where a future “waiting list” for seating availability is likely.
What am I supposed to do with the current food vouchers coupons still included in my hospitality packet?
For the remainder of the season and the last two events, you can simply disregard the food coupon vouchers included for pre-game hospitality. Your beverage vouchers can still be utilized. We will evaluate the financial feasibility of the hospitality events moving forward as it aligns with the club’s mission and any subsequent changes will be communicated and incorporated into future member season ticket and hospitality packet materials.
Please note that the Civic Center has included several one-time use vouchers in the back of the hospitality packet that can be utilized for special offers at many of their concession vendors.

I am having a difficult time finding information about the Blue Line Club. What can be done to improve that?
We appreciate your feedback and are evaluating potential ways to improve the BLC member experiences, including via the website. social media platforms, e-mails and newsletters, and new member orientation materials xAs the primary tenant of the building and given the cost of our annual lease and event operating expenses, this is disappointing to hear. We have a weekly meeting with Civic Center staff and will pass this feedback along. We agree that the experience of our fans and supporters is a top priority and having a clean and well-kept facility is not an unreasonable expectation.
