2019: Played and started in all 15 games for the Mavericks on the offensive line…As a member of the offensive line, he helped the Mavericks set MSU single season records in points scored (712), rushing yards (4,246), rushing touchdowns (59) and total offense (7,766)….As a unit, the Maverick offensive line allowed just 19 sacks in 15 games…Named to the All-NSIC Second Team.

2018: Played and started in all 14 games on the offensive line…As a member of the offensive line, Toppel helped the Mavericks rush for 3,345 yards and 37 touchdowns this past season, both of which are the fifth most in a season in team history…As a unit, the Maverick offensive line allowed just 12 sacks in 14 games…Garnered All-NSIC First Team honors and Don Hansen All-American Second Team accolades.

2017: Started in all 14 games on the offensive line for the Mavericks…As a member of the offensive line, he helped the Mavericks set an MSU single-season record of 4,036 rushing yards…Named to the All-NSIC Second Team.

2016: Redshirted.

High School: A lineman out of Madison, Wis., Toppel has earned three letters in football at DeForest Area High School while playing on the offensive and defensive lines…Has also competed for the DeForest Area wrestling team as a heavyweight and track and field team as a thrower…Started in every football game during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons… Received three all-conference honors, to go along with two all-region accolades… Claimed first team all-conference honors on offense and defense as a junior…Helped his team advance to the second round of the state playoffs in three seasons, to go with a co-conference championship his junior season.
