2019: Played and started in all 15 games for the Mavericks…Finished second on the team in tackles with 66…Tied for the team-lead in interceptions with five…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Recorded at least seven tackles in four games, including a season-high 10 tackles against CSU-Pueblo in the second round of the NCAA Tournament…Posted eight tackles and an interception against West Florida in the NCAA Championship game…Received an NSIC Honorable Mention.

2018: Played in all 14 games, while making one start…Finished third on the team in tackles with 66…Also posted 4.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks…Defended eight passes and tallied one interception…Also forced two fumbles…Notched a season-high eight tackles against both Southwest Minnesota State and Ferris State…Forced two fumbles against St. Cloud State…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Intercepted a pass vs. CSU-Pueblo at the MSU 10 with just under nine minutes to go in the game.

2017: Played in 13 games and made one start…Notched 47 tackles and 3.5 tackles for a loss…Defended three passes…Posted one interception, one fumble and forced a fumble…Recorded 10 tackles against the University of Mary...Notched seven tackles against Texas A&M-Commerce in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

2016: Redshirted.

High School: A three-sport athlete from Redwood Falls, Minn., Johnson has competed for the football, basketball and track and field teams at Redwood Valley High School…Played as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back for the football team during his four seasons…Claimed first team all-conference honors on a pair of occasions, and was named the all-district defensive back of the year…Scored more than 1,000 career points as a guard for the basketball team…Notched 109 career solo tackles and 17 tackles for loss which rank fourth and 11th in the school’s history, respectively…Notched 51 tackles, including two for a loss, and an interception as a senior… Also rushed for 684 yards and nine touchdowns as a senior, to go with 259 receiving yards and three touchdowns…Named to the honor roll…Also competed in the high jump, long jump, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and relay events as a member of the track and field team.
