Biography

2011: Named team captain for 2011 season.  

2010: Named to Daktronics Central All-Region First Team, Rawlings/ABCA Central All-Region Second Team and NCBWA Central All-Region First Team… Owned a team-leading 2.39 ERA and eight saves... Made 20 relief appearances while recording 30 strikeouts to just nine walks in 26.1 innings pitched.  

Pre-MSU: Attended Marshalltown Community College for two years from 2008-09...Had a combined 8-8 record in 94 innings pitched with 108 strikeouts...Hit .340 with three home runs and 36 RBI freshman season.

High School: Four-year starter for Warhawks and named Second-Team All-State and First-Team All-District and all-conference senior season in 2007...Hit .515 with nine home runs and 42 RBI junior season, and hit .488 with seven home runs and 36 RBI senior season...Went 6-3 as a senior with a 3.50 ERA wth 55 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched.  

Personal: Born September 18, 1988...son of Albert and Sherry Putz... Accounting major.
