Biography

2013: Played in all 12 games for the Mavericks…Led the team in scoring with 108 points…Connected on 14-of-20 field goal attempts, including a season-long 45 yard kick against the University of Mary…Named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week after connecting on four field goals against Concordia-St. Paul…Connected on 66-of-68 extra points attempts, setting a new MSU record in extra points made in a season…Named a finalist for the Fred Mitchell Award…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team…Is MSU’s all-time leading scorer with 372 points…Named NSIC South Division All-Conference First Team Special Teams…Earned a Daktronics All-American Second Team Offense award and a Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Second Team Offense award…Named a Capital-One Academic All-American for the second straight season.

2012: Finished his junior season by being named a Capital One First Team Academic All-American and an AFCA All-American...Led MSU in scoring with 122 points, more than double the next highest tally...Connected on 59 of 61 extra point attempts and hit on 21 of 27 field goal attempts...Was named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week after he was 3-of-3 in PATs and field goals (44, 47 and 39 yards), against Winona State (10/20), marking the second time in his career he has earned the award...Booted a season-high three field goals twice...Additionally, he kicked five or more successful PATs four times, including a career-high ten PATs against Upper Iowa (11/10) and also kicked off a season-high 11 times against the Peacocks....His 47-yard field goal against Winona State was the longest of his career and for the season he was 5-of-5 in field goals between 40-49 yards, 7-of-11 in field goals from 30-39 yards, 9-of-10 in attempts between 20 and 29 yards and has yet to attempt a field goal inside the 20...Set single-season records in points scored 9122), PAT kicks made (59), PAT kicks attempted (61), field goals Made (21) and field goals attempted (27)...His 77.8 percent field goal accuracy is the sixth-best single-season effort...Enters his senior season as MSU's leader in PAT kicks made (144), PAT kicks attempted (151), field goals made (40) and total points (264)...Is second in school history is tied for second in field goals attempted (55), third in field goal percentage (72.7%) and seventh in PAT kick percentage (95.4%)...In addition to being a First-Team All-NSIC South Division selection, Brockshus was a Capital One Academic All-District selection and an honoree as the Fred Mitchell Award for the top collegiate kicker in the month of October...Brockshus was also an Academic All-NSIC and a Daktronics Super Region #3 Second Team pick as well as one of ten finalists for the Fred Mitchell Award.

2011: Was out for the year with a back injury. 

2010: Was named Academic All-NSIC and Second-Team All-NSIC South Division...Enters his junior season tied sixth in career PAT kicks made, 34; eighth in career PAT kicks attempted, 35; ninth in career field goals made, 8 and tied eighth in career field goals attempted 14...Hit a pair of field goals in three consecutive games...Started his season 0-of-6 in field goals and then made his next eight...Had a season-long 42-yard field goal against Southwest Minnesota State (11/6)...Kicked off 55 times covering 3,154 yards and averaging 57.3 yards per kick...Had five touchbacks. 2009: Brockshus – an Honorable Mention All-NSIC South selection – connected on 51-of-55 extra point attempts and booted 11-of-14 field goals...Led the team in points with 84...Was named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week following the Maverick’s lidlifting win over Truman State (8/28) when he connected on all four of his extra-point opportunities and made a 46-yard field goal – which is his career long...In MSU’s overtime victory against Bemidji State (9/5), he hit all four extra points and forced overtime with a 29-yard field goal...Was 4-for-4 in extra points and hit two field
goals –including the 19-yard game-winner in MSU’s win over Wayne State (9/19)...Kicked off 71 times and covered 3,973 yards, an average of 56 yards per kick and had three touchbacks...Sits tenth on the school’s PAT kicks made and attempted list and in 2009 finished second in both categories on the single-season chart.
