Biography

2012: Appeared in 37 games and started 27…Owns a 21-6 record to compliment her 1.32 earned run average…Was named to the Second Team All-NSIC...Worked 163.2 innings and allowed just 130 hits as opponents are hitting .212 off of her to go with 136 strikeouts…Had 12 complete games this season and ten shutouts…Struck out a season-high eight batters three different times, most recently against St. Cloud State (4/17)… Member of the Capital One Academic All-District 7 team... With two outs, opponents are hit .196 against her, and with runners on they hit .207…Over the course of her career she started 82 games and appeared in 107, earning a 63-18 record to go with a 1.62 earned run average…Has 44 career complete games and 18 career shutouts in 526 innings of work, striking out 469 batters and recorded four saves…Has been named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week three times in her career...Was named to the 2012 NFCA All-Central Second Team.

2011: Was an Academic All-NSIC pick last season and was named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week for her efforts on March 1 and March 21...Led the Mavericks in earned run average (.168), opposing batting average (.205) and won-loss percentage (.767)...Worked 204.1 innings and allowed just 157 hits...Of those 157 hits, only 26 went for extra bases as opponents hit a mere .205 off of her...Struck out 188 while issuing 76 walks...Finished second in the NSIC in opposing batting average (.205), third in appearances (41) and games finished (11), fourth in ERA (1.68), innings pitched (204.1), wins (22) and games started (30) and fifth in strikeouts (188)...On the school's single-season charts, McKelvogue finished tied for seventh in appearances (48), tied for tenth in games started (30), seventh in wins (23), sixth in strikeouts (188) and fifth in walks (71)...Enters her junior season ranked fifth in career appearances (127), seventh in games started (92), tied for fourth in wins (61), tied for tenth in  losses (25), seventh in innings pitched (583.1), eighth in complete games (46), fifth in strikeouts (392) and third in walks (182). 

2010:  Posted a team-best 19-5 record during her rookie campaign....Appeared in 29 games and earned 25 starts while pitching to a 1.82 earned run average...Had 14 complete games and three shutouts while combing for four...Worked 158 innings and allowed just 56 walks while sending 145 batters back to the dugout via the strikeout...Held opponents to a .233 batting average...Was an Academic All-NSIC selection...Was named the league’s Pitcher of the Week after working five innings in a 13-0 win over Waldorf (3/25). 

2009:  Redshirted... Was named All-America Scholar-Athlete by the NFCA.

High School: Was named the Iowa Class 4A Pitcher of the Year in 2007 and 2008…Captain of the Iowa Class 4A All-State Tournament Team…Helped guide Valley High School to state championships in 2005, 2007 and 2008….McKelvogue finished her junior campaign with a 30-0 record , while boasting a 0.61 earned run average as she helped West Des Moines Valley earn an Iowa Class 4A State Championship…She finished the season with 237 strikeouts and only six walks in 170.33 innings of work. 

Personal: Daughter of Calvin and Michelle McKelvogue…Younger sister of former MSU pitcher Brooke McKelvogue…Born March 31, 1990…Majoring in special education with a minor in English as a second language.
