Burnsville, Minn. - Minnesota State senior Lauren McAlpine was named NSIC Goalkeeper of the Week for her outstanding weekend. 

McAlpine led the way and stood tall, as her and the Mavericks took down two nationally ranked teams at the Pitch. Nothing was getting past McAlpine this past weekend as she recorded two straight clean sheets, the 19th and 20th shutouts of her career. Her 20 shutouts ties her for fourth all-time in program history  

On Saturday, she recorded five saves against then No. 10 Central Missouri, leading the Mavericks to a 1-0 win. On Sunday, she was incredible racking up 12 saves, making multiple key diving saves throughout the match, helping the Mavericks win against then No. 5 Grand Valley State 1-0. Her 12 saves against the Lakers set a new career high, and is eighth most by a Maverick all-time

The senior goalkeeper is off to a strong start this season playing every minute so far, allowing only one goal, while making 25 saves, helping Minnesota State get off to a 3-0 start. 

McAlpine and the Mavericks are staying at The Pitch this weekend where they start NSIC play against Minot State on Friday at 3:00 p.m., and a match against UMary on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to wrap up the weekend.
