MANKATO, Minn. – Fresh off a pair of important road victories, the No. 4 Minnesota State football team returns to the friendly confines of Blakeslee Stadium for its 2026 home-opener Saturday at 6 p.m. versus rival Bemidji State.
The 2026-27 Scheels Kick Off is set for Thursday, Sept. 10, in the Scheels Parking Lot at the River Hills Mall (1850 Adams Street) from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will be appearances from Maverick student-athletes, coaches, Maverick Machine Athletic Band, along with the MSU cheer and dance teams.
In addition, Crooked Pint will be on hand serving its game day menu and fans can grab their limited edition Maverick Athletics Yard Sign.
Then on Saturday, the Mavericks look to move to 3-0 on the year as they battle Bemidji State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
What you need to know about Saturday's contest with Bemidji State:
- Tailgating lots open three (3) hours prior to kickoff
- Lot 20 is the free, open to the public tailgating lot - spots are available on first come first serve basis
- Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance online at www.msumavericks.com/singlegame
- There is a clear bag policy at Blakeslee Stadium.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 19, as the Mavericks host Northern State at 1 p.m. Things you need to know:
- GPC Tailgate Takeover in Lot 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Free and open to ALL fans
- Fans can sample refreshing beverages like Celsius, Dr. Pepper, and Bubbl'r and win prizes courtesy of GPC
- One lucky fan will get a chance to win a $50 gift card by kicking a field goal at halftime of the game
