Mavericks Set to Face No. 13 St Cloud and Winona State

9/24/2026 9:16:00 AM

MANKATO, Minn. -- The Minnesota State volleyball team (3-9, 1-3 NSIC) will be on the road on Thursday at 6 p.m. against No. 13 St. Cloud State (8-4, 2-2 NSIC) in St. Cloud, Minn. at Halenbeck Hall. The Mavericks return to the Taylor Center on Saturday to face Winona State (2-8, 1-3 NSIC) at 2 p.m.

"St. Cloud has had our number for six years," said Head Coach Corey Phelps. "They're consistently at the top of the conference and the country. This year is a little different. They graduated a lot of experience last year and aren't quite as elite as previous years. I'm expecting a good battle. Hopefully we can control the serve and pass game enough to squeeze out a victory. Winona is always in the mix for making the NSIC playoffs. They've had a couple injuries and are off to a slower than usual start, but similar to us, they are always talented. We expect to put a great effort together against both teams.
