MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Hall of Fame Committee has selected five individuals and one team for the school's Hall of Fame ceremonies that will take place on Friday, October 2, in the CSU Ballroom. A social will begin at 6:00 p.m., with the induction ceremony set to follow at 7:00 p.m.
This year's class includes:
Adam Thielen (2009-12), a standout wide receiver with the Maverick football team and the NFL;
Brady Wilson (2007-10), a four-time All-American and current head coach of the Minnesota State wrestling team;
Emmanuel Matadi (2014-15), a two-time MSU national champion and Olympian with the men's track and field team;
Korey Kronforst (2012-15), a multi-time All-American with the Maverick soccer team; and
Ruth Hofmeister, a 1964 alumnus who competed in multiple sports at Minnesota State.
Additionally, the 1986 Maverick baseball team will be honored for their performance as they went 35-15 to finish in fourth place at the NCAA Championships.
The ceremony will also recognize
Jim Makovsky and
Tim Marshall in the Builder's category for their contributions to Maverick Athletics. Makovsky served as the head coach for the Maverick wrestling team for 33 seasons, while Marshall concluded his career as the Senior Deputy Director of Maverick Athletics after more than 27 years of extraordinary service.
Don Westphal from Bethany Lutheran College will receive the Jim Schaffer Service Award. Westphal has served as the play-by-play commentator for the webstream and broadcast of Maverick men's hockey games for 25 seasons.

Their accomplishments and contributions have created a legacy that continues to inspire today's Maverick student-athletes. We are excited to celebrate their achievements and welcome them into the Hall of Fame this fall."
